AFL Tipping 2026
Pick across win, line, total points and goalscorer markets, and track your rank in each.
- Make your selections from the "Your Picks" tab on the tipping page, or from the widget on the individual match pages
- Choose which markets you want to play - compete in one or all of them
- Be selective with your picks - you're not penalized for skipping picks, so focus on the ones you're most confident about
- You can make changes all the way up to bounce down
- Earn points based on the odds when your picks win
- Compete on the public scoreboard or join private leagues with your friends
- Each scoreboard has cash prizes for the most profitable players
1. Ranked by Profit, Not Points
You're ranked by your profit percentage per pick. This rewards quality over quantity. Make selective, strategic picks rather than just picking everything. Forgot to tip this round? No problem - you're not disadvantaged since we only count the picks you actually make.
2. You Can Compete in Multiple Markets
Unlike traditional tipping competitions where you just pick winners, you can compete across four separate markets: Head-to-head, Line, Points, and Goalscorer. Each market has its own scoreboard and prizes. Compete in one, two, or all of them - it's completely up to you.
3. You Earn Points Based on Odds
Your points are calculated based on the odds of your picks. Higher odds mean more points when you win - so you're rewarded for taking risks. Pick the favorites safely, or back the underdogs for bigger scores.
Overall
All your picks across all categories combine for one total score.
H2H
Pick the team you think will win the match.
Line
Pick the team that will cover the line/handicap. The underdog gets a head start.
Points
Pick whether the total match points will be over or under the line.
Goalscorer
Pick which player you think will score a goal milestone (e.g. Charlie Curnow 1+ Goals).
How Scoring Works
Your points are calculated based on the odds of your selections. The higher the odds, the more points you earn when you win. However, you're ranked by profit percentage, not total points.
Odds & Line Locking
When you make a selection, you're locked in at the odds and lines shown at that moment. This means:
- Odds changes: If odds change after you pick, you still earn points based on your original odds
- Line changes: If the handicap or total points line moves, your selection stays at the original line
- Example: You pick North Melbourne +12.5 at $1.90. Even if the line moves to +8.5 at $1.90, you still have +12.5 handicap
You can change your pick any time before bounce down, which will update to the current odds and lines.
Profit Calculation
Each pick contributes to your profit percentage based on whether it wins or loses:
- Win: You gain the odds as profit. Example: Cats -12.5 at $1.90 wins = +90% profit
- Loss: You lose your stake = -100% profit
- Push/Void: No profit or loss = 0% profit
- Pending: Not counted until the match is settled
Your overall profit percentage is the average: Total Profit % / Number of Settled Picks
Why Profit Percentage Matters
Profit percentage rewards quality over quantity. You can make 20 selective picks at 60% profit and rank higher than someone making 100 picks at 40% profit. This encourages strategic betting rather than picking every market. Missed a match or even an entire round? You're not penalized - only your settled picks count towards your ranking.
Minimum Picks to Qualify
To appear on scoreboards and be eligible for prizes, you need to meet minimum pick requirements:
- Round scoreboards: Make picks in at least 50% of that round's matches. For example, if a round has 9 matches, you need at least 5 picks to appear on the round scoreboard
- Season prizes: Make at least 99 picks (50% of the 198-match season) in a market to be eligible for that market's prizes
Independent Scoreboards
Each market maintains its own independent scoreboard with separate prizes. You might rank highly in one market while performing differently in others. Check the example below to see how you can focus your efforts on markets where you're performing best.
Scoreboard
| Rank | User | Selections | Points | Profit (%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | TippingKing | 20 | 32.0 | +60.0% |
| 2nd | legz_player | 22 | 33.0 | +50.0% |
| 3rd | AFLFanatic | 18 | 26.0 | +44.4% |
Each market offers season prizes for the most profitable players. Compete across multiple markets to maximize your chances of winning.
Note: To qualify for prizes in a market category, you must make selections in at least half of the season's matches for that market. With 198 matches in the AFL season, you need at least 99 picks in a market to qualify for its prizes.
